JMJ Member Goes All Out With His Garden.

My 1949 Ford 8-N TractorMy name is Ace I live in Ranlo North Carolina. I enjoy making my back yard garden every year. I like to plow my garden in the fall and let it lay until spring the next year. It works up better after a couple freezes on it.

I usually plant my potatoes and cabbage around the first of March. They do better while it’s still cool weather. I plant the rest of my vegetables after all danger of frost has passed starting about the second week in April.

These are a few of the vegetables I plant every year. Potatoes, tomatoes, corn, squash, cucumbers, eggplant, cantaloupes, jalapeno peppers, cayenne pepper, bell pepper.

I also have a couple bronze scuppernong vines that I planted about 35 years ago. They bear quarter size fruit that ripen in September.

I like to can the peppers and tomatoes and freeze the corn. The vegetables come in good on those cold days in the winter. I also plant a green patch in August. My wife cooks them and freezes them for winter.

I also have some photos to share.
