Another of racing worst kept secrets has been publicly revealed, as the news of what most of us in the NASCAR media pool have known for several months, that Tony Stewart would be leaving Joe Gibbs Racing to buy into Haas/CNC, will be announced on Wednesday.

There are several reasons Stewart is making such a move, first and foremost among them is to secure his future as a mover and shaker in the sport he so dearly loves and that has made him a millionaire many times over.

Far down the list of reasons is to win races. Stewart fans will have to embrace the fact that unless he can pull a rabbit out of his hat, Stewart probably won’t be visiting a winner’s circle anytime soon. JGR will be giving him junk from here on out - If you think his stuff will be just as good as the stuff kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin (more…)

Casey Mears, who struggled as the fourth member of Hendrick Motorsports’ “dream team” in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, will be released after this season, the two sides announced today. His replacement was not immediately named.

Separately, driver Greg Biffle signed a three-year extension to keep driving the No. 16 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing.

Casey MearsMears, a member of the famed Mears racing family of Bakersfield, has won only one race since moving to Hendrick last year from the team of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.

He won the Coca-Cola 600 last year at Lowe’s Motor Speedway near Charlotte on a fuel gamble, and the victory also was Mears’ only win since he began driving in the Cup series in 2003.

Mears is 24th in points this year with only one top-five (more…)

If you like to fish for bass but dont have a boat do not be discouraged. I grew up in New Jersey and have spent more than my fair share of days walking the banks of many bass pond and mid sized lakes looking for that bass of a lifetime.

My approach begins with selecting what to bring along for the day. I usually grab a back pack as its easier to carry than a tackle bag or tackle box. Then I will take a variety of the go to baits such as rubber worms in a few different colors and sizes and from personal experience it is best to have at least two bags of each style and color cause if they are on you can run through a bag very quickly. Then I will move to the spinner baits and I will generally bring three colors with me chartruese, white, and black and always more (more…)
