(newser) – If Roger Clemens wants to get any of his stuff back from ex-trainer Brian McNamee, all he has to do is log on to eBay. McNamee, who split with Clemens in the great steroids war, is putting up everything from autographed baseballs to hats to photographs of “all the steroid guys”—Clemens, Canseco, and Pettitte, the AP reports. He’s donating the proceeds to his juvenile diabetes charity.

All told, McNamee is putting 50 or 60 steroid-tainted mementos on the block, with bidding for a baseball signed by Clemens and McNamee escalating from $38 to $4,000 today. McNamee is getting the last word, too: where Clemens was wont to sign “Cy 7″ after his name, for his seven Cy Young awards, McNamee has added, “Ly 0,” for zero lies.

Baseball was invented in America in 1845. But even before that, as early as the 1600s, people in England played a similar game called rounders. The players on the other team tried to tag the runner by throwing the ball at him and hitting him with it! Ouch! This painful practice was called soaking the runner.
